Zac Aquino is a self-taught, Filipino-American artist from Washington State. His style intertwines the principles of sacred geometry, math, and symmetry with Filipino tattoo patterns and motifs.
The roots of Filipino culture have been ripped out by hundreds of years of colonization, leaving generations of people detached from their heritage. Aquino uses his art to regrow these roots, which has allowed him to reconnect to his identity, traditions, ancestors and the blood that runs through his veins.
As Aquino continues crafting and sharpening his style, he pulls inspiration from artist M.C. Escher, architectural drafting, and the concept of the infinite.
